All in the merry merry month of May

I cannot believe May is over! The junior high and high school kids are counting down the days until summer vacation- and my kids still have over a month left!
This month we saw the season finales of our favorite programs--yes we do have time to catch some TV now that Kevin is home more !!-
We were caught being hooked to American Idol this season as well as Smallville. I don't know what I will do with my time now that they are over- hey, maybe I will read:)

Rylee's class put on an operetta of the JUNGLE BOOK. It was amazing. Rylee's teacher is fabulous. The costumes the moms made were inspiration for next Halloween. Rylee was a village girl and narrarator. She belted out each of the songs in the Jungle Book- just like she does at primary. She loves the stage! She was disappointed however, after the play some parents brought flowers for their child that was performing... Did the thought even cross my mind--NO- Rylee was wondering where her bouquet was- How does one keep up on the protocol of such things??

Ben's play 1001 Arabian Nights is coming up in June- what a fun school!
Rylee also has her dance recital this weekend, It should be cute.
Rylee celebrated her birthday this month. She was surprised she didn't feel any different. She absolutely digs birthdays, almost obnoxiously. She counted down the days for an entire month. Every month on the 17th day, she tells us how many more months until her birthday. I don't know where she ever got the idea!
My yard looks great, the flowers in bloom, the garden planted- my fingers are dirty brown and I AM HAPPY! This was a LONG winter and it made me sad!
Another exciting tidbit- we bought a basketball hoop- a really nice one to put on our new cement pad in the backyard. I am excited!
So that is our month in a nutshell. It's all about the kids isn't it! Oh well, such is the season of life!

Sounds like a good and busy month. Those are my favorite kind. I am a little sorry I missed Rylee's debut! She would have been great. You need to put that girl in a drama class.
Brief apology for the horrid typo problems in my last blog post. I was embarrased you had to wade through that to figure out what I was talking about. We definatly need grammer check on these things for folks like me.
We have 4 days of school left!!!!
You know, if you moved over here you could have 4 days left too. ;)
