As many of you know, It has been a very long time since I have had long hair..so this morning I wrote this "Ode to Ponytail"
Ponytails are so great
The perfect hair-do when you're late
brush, brush, then once more
throw elastic in, head out door
Out of sight, out of mind
hair is done in 4/4 time
But at the end of the day,
when I look in back
mine seems to be less "pony"
and a little bit more like "rat!"

I love it! How true it is. My hair is long enough that the pony tail is my number one hair do. Does this mean that we have turned into those moms that Oprah sends her henchmen to find you and give you a make over? (I kinda hope so because I would love a make over and a chance to be on T.V!)
I was told by a stylist when the pony tail became the #1 style, it was time to cut your hair....the pony tail is the coiff du jour for me but I refuse to be a mom that chops off my hair because I have little ones. Long live the pony tail!
I think I will write an "Ode to Hat" some day to go along with your great poem! I hate the fateful moment when the hat comes off and my mis-shapen hat head is revealed!
