I chose to be married on March 15...or,more poetically called The Ides of March.
The Ides of March got it's poetic name from some guy named Shakespeare. You see, there was this guy named Brutus that had a bad vibe for a guy named Ceasar. Brutus, wanted Ceasar dead. Brutus, being the kind guy that he was, warned Ceasar that he should beware the Ides of March...or March 15. Wasn't that nice of Brutus to warn him? Anyway, on the Ides of March, Brutus stabbed Ceasar in his back..and Ceasar moaned, "et tu Brute?" And thus ended the reign of Ceasar.
Now, why would I choose to be married on such a cursed day? Cuz I was in love, and it was spring break..and basketball season was finally over so my parents could handle a wedding. Not so poetic.
However, our officiator at the wedding thought maybe we enjoyed Shakespeare, so he quoted lines of Shakespeare. Maybe it was nice, I don't know.. all I heard was blah, blah, blah, flowery word, some word I had no idea what it meant, blah, blah. I was thinking "Just get to the part where we say, " I do" (much like the prince in the Princess Bride)but I had to sit there and not puke.
But, alas, the Ides of March have paid their price..
You see, I got a call the other day from a lady telling me that Brutus (i.e. Dr. Forsha pronounced Fore-sh-eh) wanted to harm me on 'THE IDES OF MARCH.' She warned me (wasn't that nice). And, just like Ceasar, I too, was stabbed in the back. I too muttered "et tu Forsha?" However, not as dramatically as my friend Ceasar, I recovered..and a 4 inch scar (and bandages and stitches) is all that remains of my encounter with my Shakespearean folly.
Now my dear readers, BEWARE OF THE IDES OF MARCH!! Maybe all of this was the result that it was my 13th anniversary on the Ides of March...maybe this superstition thing is real...or maybe Dr Forsha was really just trying to keep that skin cancer thing from really killing me like good ol Brutus..nah, I am going with the superstition, it makes a better story :)

Wow I never knew that day was so cursed!!! Hope all heals well with the 4 inch scar.
Way to go Stacy, I love your sense of humor. I've been reading posts from the past few months and I'm glad you got a steamer with your birthday moola.
And by the way, I just made skin doctor appointments for both of us.
That was some awesomeness!
the way you told that was mesmorizing!

You are too funny! You can make anything sound poetic, historical, or dramatic.
Hope you feel better soon!
Ugh. Matt told me the beginnings of this story, but not the outcome. I'm sorry about the scar. We should go get ours checked.
Love the way you've written this. You're pretty good ;)
I hope you will be okay. That skin stuff can be very scarey. I hope your hubby did something to make your anniversary great!
