Ben is Ten

Ben Ten!
Ten years ago, I became a mom! Ben entered the world loud, obnoxious, big, and stubborn! Good thing he got all of those things out of his system! He is now such a joy to have around! He is quiet, thoughtful, considerate, compassionate, obedient, and kind. We feel so blessed to have him in our family!
Ben's current fascinations are...Legos, running, camping, hiking, fishing, and all things nature. He went on his first overnight backpacking trip this year! He played on a basketball team and ran track. He likes to run the 800 meter race and the relay races.
Ben is a very smart kid that loves to learn. He often gets grounded from reading- just so he is forced to be social!
We sure love you Ben- we couldn't ask for a better son!





For his birthday, we took some of his friends to Classic to go on the waterslides. Wednesday nights are only $3 a person, so I thought what a great birthday party! We got to Classic at 5:10..at 5:20 they closed the waterslides because of lightning! We begged and pleaded with the manager to allow the kids to go to the inflatable slides instead. Thankfully, the manager allowed us to continue the fun indoors. It was sad to not have the waterslides, but we are so thankful Classic was accomodating.
After Classic, we came home for icecream, cake, pizza, water balloons and of course..fireworks! Ben's favorite thing about his birthday is the traditional fireworks at the end of his parties. How cool to have a birthday when fireworks are legal!
It was so nice to have a party with 10 year olds...compared to parties with 4 year olds..it was soo much easier!
