In the good ol summertime!

Sunscreen and bug spray and bandaids a plenty
New shirts and new shorts for all in the family
Lawnmowers and hornets and stinky weed spray
these are the things I forgot about summer

Kids home from school with all their comrades
Dirt in the carpet and worms on the sidewalk
Dog poop on shoes and sunburns in weird places
these are the things I forgot about summer

But there are long nights, there are parties, and barbecues too
Warmer weather, swimming outdoors, and trips to the zoo
Fresh veggies, gardening, pretty flowers and fruit too
These are the things I will remember for you!

look at you go! Lovely poem, I am way impressed. I would like to be invited to all those parties and barbques if you don't mind.
And where exactly is a "weird place" to be sunburned? Sounds interesting....
